Well, I am feeling refreshed after a break from the easel. I have been very busy building art kits for students through a program at ArtsPlace in Annapolis Royal called "Studio-A-Go". There are 4 kits that are now available to students within the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board and to other community groups. The kits range from Basic Drawing, Painting/Colour, Stamping/Printmaking, and Collage. These kits are for rent on a 3 week basis and were made possible by a grant from the N.S Dept. of Communities, Cultures and Heritage, and also through funds raised by the Annapolis Region Community Arts Council.

This was my set up the day I went to Annapolis Highland Vineyards for the annual wine tour.

Many people stopped to look and chat about my work, taking my business cards and showing interest in my paintings.

Although it was a rainy day, it was a chance to promote myself in a wonderful setting.

I did this one for the annual Golf Fore The Cure golf tournament silent auction. 120 women came out to participate at the Annapolis Royal Golf & Country Club on Saturday August 27, 2011. We had a beautiful day and a great time was had by all...we raised over $20,000 at this event!!!

On September 24 2011, I will be at the Annapolis Highland Vineyards in Bear River East, NS, painting on site from 12-4pm. I will have paintings and assorted card & magnet gift sets for sale. Of course, you will be able to purchase wine with artist labels on them! Everyone welcome to visit this beautiful winery and vineyard.

I was thrilled when I found out that my 8x10 "Hummingbird Glow" was chosen out of 800 entries. She now appears on wine bottle labels for Annapolis Highland Vineyards, Bear River East, N.S. You can find various selections of wine at their winery and at the Annapolis Royal Farmers Market on Saturday mornings.

I really enjoyed doing this little 7x9 acrylic painting. I did the whole thing using a #4 flat synthetic brush without planning. I just started the painting and couldn't stop. When I completed it, I looked at the brush and thought "wow!"

This acrylic painting is loose compared to my usual detailed painting style. I really had fun with the play of lights and darks, but feel there is room to loosen up and get braver with strong contrasts.
